4/24/22 Principal's Message

Dear OBE families,

A huge thanks to all the hardworking volunteers who made our Jog-a-Thon such as success. We were a little nervous considering the forecast called for rain on the one day of the year we needed good weather. Luckily, the rain stopped in plenty of time for our event. It was a good first step towards feeling a sense of normalcy again. This Friday we will have an assembly at 1:00pm on the blacktop to celebrate the successful outcome. I'm hearing the goal may have been reached which will result in me getting dunked in a dunk tank. Families will be invited to come down to watch this unfold. Please look for an email this week with details for Friday's event. There are some protocols that will be in place to stay in compliance with the district policies. We are very excited to have out OBE families join us on campus this Friday.

From our hard working PTA:

The Jogathon was a Huge Success! Be sure to tune into CTW tv this Friday, 4/29 for a recap video, announcing how much our kiddos raised for our school and displaying our hard working students running their best and biggest! Prizes will also be distributed on Friday.

The Spring Book Fair is coming. Monday, 5/2 - Friday, 5/6, families and students will be able to shop Scholastic books in person in the school auditorium. Please note that the schedule for shopping will be assigned by last name and the student and family members will enter the school campus on the Sunset Cliffs/Newport corner entrance to walk through the auditorium where the fair will be set up. Find your child's last name in the list below. The auditorium will be open to come shop that day beginning at 2:15. You can make purchases with cash, check, or credit card at the in-person fair. And please note, if we reach our goal of $500, Mr. Drapeau will dress up like a butterfly!

Monday, May 2: Last name A-I

Tuesday, May 3: Last name J-R

Wednesday, My 4: Last name S-Z

Thursday: Character Builders and Prime Time students will be walked through. Please have them bring cash for any purchases they would like to make. If not, you can make purchases at the online bookstore, available Friday, 4/29 - Friday, May 13.

Friday: Open for any families who were unable to attend on their assigned day.

Teacher Staff Appreciation Week is also coming, Monday, 5/2 - Friday, 5/6. Families and students will be able to show their appreciation in all kinds of ways throughout the week to both their teachers and their favorite staff. Fliers will be going out this week with a guide of what to bring each day, along with a list of some of their Teacher's favorite things to use for choosing what you bring/create for them. Feel free to participate if and however you wish to help our whole staff feel loved and appreciated for all they do! We also surveyed many of the staff to help provide some of their favorite things so you know what they like when creating or picking out their appreciation gifts. Find the information here.
